Have you got talent, ambition, initiative and a spirit of adventure, along with an excellent academic record, but don’t have the financial means to pursue your studies? If so, the Dr. Jost Henkel Foundation can help provide the necessary support.
Dr. Jost Henkel, a grandson of the firm’s founder, Fritz Henkel, set up the foundation back in 1958. His strong social conscience dictated that young people with less means should also have the opportunity to get the best possible education. Since then, the foundation – now led by Christoph Henkel – continues to support gifted and motivated young talent.
For the company’s 125th anniversary in 2001, Henkel provided the foundation with a large capital injection – raising the total to more than 3.3 million euros – so it can now do even more to provide scholarships.
In addition to financial support, the provision of personal support and contact is very important to the foundation. Henkel’s own senior management often attends functions with scholars, which not only gives them the chance to develop their personal network but can also help them in other areas – such as in the procurement and the supervision of internships, or mentorship for academic coursework or dissertations.
