The Artists-in-Residence Program of KulturKontakt Austria offers a three-month scholarship in Vienna to artists from the emerging markets of Central and Eastern Europe, encompassing a studio, accommodations, insurance, a monthly monetary grant of EUR 1,000 as well as a presentation of the works of art at the end of the three-month stay. Artists from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia and the Ukraine up to the age of 40 are eligible.

The Henkel Art.Award. 2008 for Young Artists will be selected by a jury from the works of art submitted by young artists participating in the Artists-in-Residence Program of KulturKontakt Austria. In addition to the three-month scholarship from KulturKontakt Austria, the winner will receive a monetary award of EUR 2,000 from Henkel CEE. The winner will be selected by an international jury and notified in writing. The jury session will be held at the beginning of September in Vienna. Following the decision of the jury, the results can be viewed on the Web site of KulturKontakt Austria. 

The application materials should include the following: 

• Curriculum vitae and artistic career (in English or in German; age limit: 40)
• Five to ten samples of the artist’s work in the form of photos, folders and/or art catalogues (maxium size: A3). No CDs allowed.
• No originals! After the jury session, the works of art won’t be returned. Oversized works of art and applications per e-mail will not be accepted!
