Henkel Appoints First Diversity Manager

With 53,000 employees from 110 nations spread over all the world's continents, Henkel is one of the most internationally aligned German companies. Given this background, diversity management is an important issue at Henkel. Henkel has now appointed its first global Diversity Manager, reporting directly to Kasper Rorsted, Vice Chairman of the Henkel Management Board and Executive Vice President Human Resources. With this newly created position, Henkel intends to strengthen diversity as a strategic factor for success within today's internationally competitive environment. “Only through the diversity of our employees can we understand the markets of the more than 125 countries in which we are represented by our products. The better we are able to harness diversity, the more successful we will be as a global player,” commented Kasper Rorsted, underlining the importance of this decision.

Henkel Sustainability Report honored

For the first time, the Econ Verlag publishing house and the Handelsblatt business newspaper have presented awards for the best corporate communications work. In the category Sustainability/CSR Report, the Bronze award went to the Henkel Sustainability Report 2006 and the associated website. Henkel was also among the finalists in the categories Strategic Corporate Communications, Annual Report and Image Film.

Rajmund Domán (Hungary) wins Henkel Art.Award. 2007

For the sixth consecutive year, Henkel Central Eastern Europe (CEE) has bestowed its coveted Henkel Art.Award., this year in the field of industrial design. In cooperation with KulturKontakt Austria, the award is endowed with a monetary prize of 7,000 euros and an exhibition in the artist's homeland. The art prize for 2007 was granted to the Hungarian designer Rajmund Domán at a gala award ceremony held in the Otto Wagner Museum located in the Postal Savings Bank. The Lower Austrian designer Hermann Trebsche was given the Henkel Art.Award. for Young Artists in Austria, whereas the Ukrainian artistic duo of Nickolay Ridniy and Anna Kriventsova, who together comprise the SOSka group, won the Henkel Art.Award. 2007 for Young Artists in Central and Eastern Europe. The two latter awards are endowed to the sum of 2,000 euros each.

Opening of Shared Service Center for Finance & Accounting in Slovakia On September 28, 2007, Henkel Slovensko, the Slovakian subsidiary of Henkel CEE located in Bratislava, officially commenced operations of the Shared Service Center. The multistoried administrative building, in which Henkel has bundled and outsourced part of the financial and accounting work of its subsidiaries in approximately 20 European countries, was completed at a cost of 2.6 million euros. A total of 60 employees will be working at the Shared Service Center.  more

Henkel Sponsors Ice Hockey World Cup in Russia When a goal is scored in ice hockey, the Russian shout is "Schaibu, Schaibu!". And as from tomorrow, Russian fans will be getting plenty of opportunity to exercise their lungs as the 2007 Ice Hockey World Cup gets underway in Moscow. Taking part for the first time is Henkel - as an official sponsor of the "IIHF World Championship". In Henkel's sponsoring activities, the focus is very much on global interest. The World Ice Hockey Championship in Russia is a perfect example of such internationality with 16 national teams meeting head-on in Russia's capital, keenly watched by around 700 million viewers throughout the world.   more

Looking for the Best Industrial Design of 2007 For the sixth consecutive year, Vienna-based Henkel Central Eastern Europe (CEE) is announcing its Henkel Art.Award. for artists in Central and Eastern Europe and in Central Asia. The art prize, endowed with the sum of EUR 7,000--, will be granted this year in the field of industrial design. In addition, Henkel will also grant a Young Artist's Prize for young, talented Eastern European artists, endowed with a monetary award of EUR 2,000--, to the participants of the Artists-in-Residence Program of organized by its long-term partner, the cultural initiative KulturKontakt Austria.   more

2006: Record Year for Henkel Central Eastern Europe Henkel Central Eastern Europe (Henkel CEE) succeeded in increasing its total revenues by 39.7 per cent in 2006 to EUR 1.881 billion. Organic growth accounted for 17.8 per cent. 2007 will feature a major investment drive featuring EUR 160 million in regional investments.   more

Head of Henkel Communications Appointed to US Institute for Public Relations As part of the internationalization process of the renowned US Institute for Public Relations (IPR), Ernst Primosch, Corporate Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications at Henkel, has been appointed to the IPR's Board of Trustees.
