Exhibition
The works of art submitted by the five nominated finalists will be presented within the framework of an exhibition held in the KUNSTHALLE Wien project space from November 3 – November 23, 2005.
The works of art presented in the exhibition correspond to the submissions of the finalists, which served as the basis for the jury’s decision. Original drawings from four of the nominees can be viewed. The works of the Lithuanian artist Tendziagolskis are projected onto the wall. The exhibition provides an impressive and representative cross-section of the art scene in the Central and Eastern European countries. The similarities as well as the differences are revealed, leaving ample room for myriad interpretations, not only in terms of origin but also in regards to the category of modern drawing itself.
The photographic works of Aleksandrija Ajdukovic, the award winner of the Youth Artists Prize, will be presented in a slide show. The extraordinary photographic achievements of her “Tigresses” series of photos depict a succession of women who have one particular quality in common, namely their preference for wearing clothing with animal patterns.
