Experience the ultimate soccer event of 2008 without any language barriers – thanks to Henkel
Henkel Fan Guide in three languages – Eine min Fetznlaberl! - Rein mit dem Ball! - Get in there!
Düsseldorf, Germany – The Henkel Fan Guide will be available to fans just on time to mark the beginning of the European Soccer Championship 2008 on June 7th. The trilingual pocket size publication will serve international guests as a reference book for typical everyday situations, offering the basic vocabulary required to competently master communications challenges for the periods before, during and after the matches. The user has the choice of trying either High German or directly turning to the “Austrian” manner of speaking German.
A total of 6,600 printed copies of the Henkel Fan Guide will be sent directly to all Viennese restaurants and hotels. Moreover, any interested person can order a copy at no charge at www.henkel-fanguide.at, or can download it as a PDF file. It can be used either as a creative give-away for guests and friends, or as a practical manual for communicating in Austria’s capital city. Similarly, the spoken version of the Henkel Fan Guide can be downloaded as an mp3 file at no cost.
The fan guide is a means of demonstrating Henkel’s strong ties to Vienna. Henkel brands have been available in the city for more than 120 years, and the company has operated a production plant for 80 years. At present, Henkel manufactures close to 200,000 tons of detergents and cleansers in the factory each year. In accordance with the motto “Henkel - A Brand like a Friend“, Henkel warmly welcomes all soccer fans to this exciting event, and hopes they will leave Austria as friends.
Henkel Central Eastern Europe (Henkel CEE) has also linked its fan guide to a charitable project. For the last two years, Henkel has been supporting an association called “Contrast” at the Viennese Institute of the Blind, within the context of its “Henkel Smile” Initiative. The therapists of this organization take care of more than 200 young children who are blind or visually impaired. Henkel will donate 5 cents to Contrast for each download of the guide or mp3 file, and for each order of the printed booklet at www.henkel-fanguide.at.
