Step by Step Process of Submitting an Idea

STEP 1: Protect your Idea STEP 2: Submit your Idea STEP 3: Review and Evaluation STEP 4: Next Steps
Henkel can only accept ideas that have already been patented or for which a patent application has been published, or a utility model or design registered, and which have already been published. Ideas may be submitted for products, processes or designs which fit Henkel’s business areas.

If you agree to the general terms of participation and the declaration of data protection, then please submit your idea using the entry form. The following information is required: Name, contact details, publication number of the intellectual property right, short description of the idea (especially important for letters patent and registrations which have been published in languages other than German or English). Once you have submitted your idea, you will receive a confirmation of receipt from us.

The ideas submitted will be reviewed and evaluated by a panel of judges. This process may take several months, so please be patient. We will inform you of the result as soon as possible.

Please also note that many of the ideas submitted might not be of use to us because they have already become state of the art. Moreover, Henkel could also have examined your idea at some time in the past and decided that it was not appropriate. Please understand that we will not give any reasons as to why we decide that an idea is not useful to us.

The winner of the Henkel Innovation Trophy will be notified and invited to attend an official awards ceremony.

If your idea is of interest to Henkel, we will contact you to discuss the next steps. Ideas that have reached this stage are of a novel character, either for product markets or for processes.
