PROLOC bioadhesives are a co-spray dried mixture of USP-grade amylopectin (waxy maize starch) and a high molecular weight cross-linked polyacrylic acid. These bioadhesives provide the means to deliver therapeutic agents across mucosal membranes from various absorption sites, including buccal/sublingual, vaginal, nasal, ocular and rectal.
